Dr. Alison Karley

Ali leads the Agroecology Group’s Integrated Cropping Systems team in the Ecological Sciences Department at the James Hutton Institute. She is an agroecologist with >25 years research experience. Her work aims to develop and test cropping practices and technologies that reduce external inputs and increase crop resilience to environmental stress. She works collaboratively with agricultural stakeholders to address knowledge gaps, for participatory research and co-innovation, and to develop open science tools. She is involved in a new initiative working with schools and young people to co-create solutions for climate resilience and identify career paths for the transition.
