Daniel is Director of the University of Strathclyde’s NCSC accredited Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research and has long track record of research on cybercrime including work with Police Scotland, NCA, and FBI. He co-organises the annual International Perspectives on Cybercrime Summer School with attendees from Scottish public sector bodies including Scottish Government and Police Scotland as well as international participants from Germany, Canada, Italy, and Malaysia. He is Deputy Director of Strathclyde’s Graduate Apprenticeship MSc Cyber Security, which has over the years trained cyber security specialists at a huge range of public bodies in Scotland.
Daniel completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge on “Security metrics for computer systems” followed by a postdoc in the Cambridge Cybercrime Centre, where he remains a visiting researcher. He now delivers research that enables the accurate and ethical measurement of security and cybercrime.
