Màiri (she/her) leads the Digital Engagement Team at the National Library of Scotland, where she manages library systems, content development, and user research to improve public access. Under her leadership, the Library implemented its first digital engagement program and a comprehensive user research program, which fosters significant cross-departmental collaboration.
Mairi’s innovative approach is influenced by her background in sculpture, film, contemporary art curation, research, publishing, and digital production. She is a champion for co-production and collaborative methods, driving digital innovation that is meaningful and useful.
Dedicated to human-centred design, she champions diverse team dynamics and supports space for experimentation and failure to enhance adaptability and deepen the impact of solutions. She is an advocate for people’s direct connection to culture, believing passionately that culture can create a unique context for connection and can operate as a site for social change.
