Tala Pattinson
Tala joined the Holyrood team in November 2022 after graduating from her MSc in Modern Literature from the University of Edinburgh. Originally from North Yorkshire, Tala first studied at the University of York where she read English Literature, as well as produced countless theatre performances in York, London, and Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. She brings to Holyrood significant experience in both events and marketing, particularly from her time working in communications for a Yorkshire-based community charity, as well as various arts and culture publications.
In her free time, Tala is a voracious reader and is currently setting up a female-focused literary review with her twin sister. She can also be found trying to learn Spanish, dreaming about having her own dog, and exploring restaurants, pubs, and galleries around Edinburgh, the city in which she has found a home.
Her favourite quote in life and work is by her favourite author, and subject of her MSc thesis, Toni Morrison:
“We die, that may be the meaning of life. But we do language, that may be the measure of our lives.”
