The Open University in Scotland: Building an Inclusive Economic Recovery

Building an Inclusive Economic Recovery Webinar Image

The Scottish Government’s approach to recovery seeks to address a range of economic, social, and environmental challenges. It has committed to delivering a green recovery and is implementing a Young Person’s Guarantee, but there is still more to do.

This webinar, in partnership with the Open University in Scotland, was an opportunity to consider what further action is required to ensure that the skills needs of all workers, families and communities are met, so that no one is left behind. It explored what an inclusive economic recovery might look like in reality and how we can utilise the expertise of a wide range of stakeholders.

The Open University in Scotland are the most popular university in Scotland for flexible, part-time study. With social justice is at their core,  their high quality education is accessible to all, regardless of age, income, qualifications or geography.

Holyrood Events will further explore the Young Person’s Guarantee at the Up-skilling, Re-skilling and the Young Person’s Guarantee event on 25th November 2021. This event will offer interested stakeholders the chance to assess the implementation of the Young Person’s Guarantee in relation to its intended outcomes and discuss what more needs to be done in its second year.
