Angela Scott has been the Chief Executive of Aberdeen City Council since 2014, having been Director of Corporate Governance.
Angela was previously Head of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, and expert advisor to both the Finance Committee of the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly. She was a Vice Chair of the Scottish Health Board.
Nationally, Angela is a member of the Suicide Leadership Group, the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Delivery Board, the Child Protection Leadership Group. She is a Non-Executive Director of the Improvement Service.
During Angela’s tenure, Aberdeen has undergone significant regeneration, while the council has adopted a new operating model to transform services and deliver required savings of £125million. Aberdeen became the first Scottish council to issue a bond on the London Stock Exchange and won the MJ Council of the Year Award in 2020.
