Deborah Henderson heads up Glasgow City Council’s Information and Data Protection Team. This team deal with over 3,000 freedom of information and environmental information requests each year, along with a large volume of subject access requests. Deborah also manages a team of solicitors who are responsible for providing legal advice on information law matters across the organisation. Deborah is the Council’s leading expert on freedom of information law and provides operational and strategic advice in this field. She also assists clients with a variety of complex data protection issues.
Deborah is a qualified solicitor who initially trained and worked in private practice before moving into the public sector, joining Glasgow City Council in 2005.
