
Gillian leads the FSS Nutrition Science and Policy Branch and manages the FSS Nutrition Programme. Gillian worked for FSA in Scotland for 10 years as a senior public health nutrition advisor. Her career followed an MSc in Human Nutrition followed by a PhD and 6 years of postdoctoral positions focused on energy metabolism and diabetes research. In her current role she leads a team of registered public health nutritionists to publish a robust national picture of trends in diet and nutrition and disseminate the science and evidence base to influence policy development to improve diet in Scotland.
