Vicky West is the UK Woodland Carbon Code Manager, based in Scottish Forestry. Vicky has overseen the management and development of the Woodland Carbon Code programme across the UK, she is also an Executive Board member of the UK’s Peatland Code, and is involved in various other initiatives to ensure the credibility and functionality of the developing carbon market.
More recently, the Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code teams have been successful in securing FIRNS funding to develop standardised contracts for nature markets, as well as to develop a biodiversity crediting methodology for woodland and peatland projects. Both of these initiatives should help the market broaden and scale with integrity.
