George Barbour

George has over 35 years experience in Scottish local government principally in communications services starting at the former Strathclyde Regional Council and more recently at East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde councils. At Inverclyde Council for the past 11 years George led on various functions including communications and media but also tourism and place marketing supporting the Chief Executive and corporate management team as the lead communications adviser. George moved to Stirling Council late in 2023 in a new position and function with the council as Executive Office and Communications Manager to support the Council Chief Executive by leading on the delivery of communications, policy and research with the aim of supporting those services to guide the vision of the council to deliverable goals.
