As Head of RSA Scotland, Jamie Cooke leads on the development of the RSA’s activity and impact across a broad range of areas. He works with Fellows to strengthen RSA Scotland’s impact, and to open up new ways to develop opportunities in Scotland which contribute to the RSA’s strategic objectives. Key current areas of interest include Basic Income (in which he is a global leader), Resilience, Post-Industrial Cities, Inclusive Growth and the Future of Work. He is also working closely with RSA colleagues and Fellows in other parts of the world, particularly the US, to develop areas of collaboration.
Jamie is a frequent public speaker and writer, and co-author of the recent reports such as A Basic Income for Scotland and Pathways Towards a Universal Basic Income. With a background in civic and democratic participation and research, cultural venue management and education, Jamie is fascinated by the interaction between people, place and society and ways to create a more enlightened country.
