Nehmat is the Head of Global Government Relations for the Under2 Coalition Secretariat at Climate Group. She is a climate policy expert based in their London offices. She joined the Climate Group from the Natural Resources Defense Council where she was India Representative for five years and led evidence-based policy analysis and stakeholder engagement across several areas. Expertise includes energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy access, clean transportation, international climate policy, air quality and climate health and resilience. She’s worked with key government and private sector stakeholders for more than 12 years. She has been a part of the Global Shapers Hub network, founded and led by the World Economic Forum, and is a United States International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) alumna. Nehmat has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Delhi and a masters degree in development studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
