I have volunteered or worked in the third sector for the last 7 years supporting and developing projects that are trying to address digital exclusion. Prior to this I worked for 40 years in a FTSE 100 company. I started working with Simon Community Scotland 2 years ago in the position of Digital Inclusion Programme Manager. This project is concerned with supporting people experiencing homelessness to get devices, connectivity and person centred learning. These people are arguably the most digitally excluded group in society. I am particularly interested in exploring how digital access can reduce social isolation and improve access to health and wellbeing resources for this vulnerable group.
