Prof. Angela Daly

Angela Daly is an internationally renowned law, data & technology leader with transnational experience in academia, advocacy and policy-making concerning the regulation of new digital technologies and data. She is Professor of Law & Technology at the University of Dundee, jointly appointed in the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science and Dundee Law School. In 2022-23 she chaired the Independent Expert Group to the Scottish Government on Unlocking the Value of Data, which produced its final report on private sector access to public sector personal data in August 2023. In 2023-24 she has been commissioned by UKRI to lead a University of Dundee team to conduct an independent review of the ESRC’s research data policy, has co-lead a Scottish Universities Insight Institute programme on public data for development in Scotland and the European Union, and has been advising the European Commission on the Green Deal Data Space.
