
Dr. Mark Wong is an expert in racial justice, responsible AI, and AI governance. His research tackles racial bias and discrimination in AI. He has developed participatory frameworks to amplify expertise by lived experience of minoritised ethnic people in digital public services and AI innovation. He is Chair of Engagement of the Participatory Harm Auditing Workbenches and Methodologies (PHAWM) project, funded by Responsible AI UK. He was Co-Chair of the Scottish Government’s Design Advisory Group for the Anti-Racism Observatory of Scotland and a member of advisory committees in Public Health Scotland, NHS, and other public/third sector organisations.
