Rak is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Public Health Scotland since it came into being in April 2020. He is also an Honorary Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University and was formerly a Consultant Physician in Sexual Health & HIV Medicine. He helped set up the Sandyford sexual health service in Glasgow and led work to end HIV transmission in Scotland
