Immigration: EU Transition Business Readiness Series

EU Transition - Immigration

On 1 January 2021, free movement between the UK and EU ended. The UK introduced a new points-based immigration system that treats EU and non-EU citizens equally, transforming the way  all migrants come to the UK to work. From now on, anyone coming to the UK to work, excluding Irish citizens, must apply for permission in advance. Many employers were left wondering how the UK’s new points-based immigration system would affect Scottish businesses.

Holyrood’s managing editor, Mandy Rhodes, explored these topics with officials from the Home Office for our Immigration and EU Settlement webinar on 29 October 2020.

The webinar, now available on-demand, is an opportunity to hear directly from the experts working on the detail. Watch it on demand if your business needs to know:

  • How the points-based system will work and can benefit your company
  • How to become a sponsor
  • How to recruit outside of the UK post-transition
  • The process for EU nationals to get settled status in the UK
