On 1 January 2021 the transition period with the EU ended, and the United Kingdom now operates a full, external border as a sovereign nation. This means controls are placed on the movement of goods between Great Britain and the EU.
Holyrood’s managing editor, Mandy Rhodes, explored the issue with UK Government officials from the Cabinet Office’s Border and Protocol Delivery Group (BPDG) and the Department for Transport, for our Border Readiness webinar on 11 November.
The webinar, now available on-demand, provides an overview of high level preparations for UK/EU trade and the Border Operating Model. Watch now for insights into how to navigate this difficult transition period, including:
- General requirements and preparation for UK importers and exporters
- How to comply with new border readiness and traffic management processes
- Customs controls
