The Scottish Government has set out plans for what John Swinney has described as the “most radical reshaping of public services” in Holyrood’s history: cutting Scotland’s 14 regional health boards to just two, and reviewing the future structure of local government.
The move comes as the country’s spending watchdog warned that they do not have a detailed plan in place to deliver on the SNP’s pledge to implement PSR and that the country’s finances face a £5bn blackhole by the end of the decade.
