The Data Breach vs The Ethics Breach: How to Prepare for Both

Data and Ethics breaches can have a huge impact on organisation’s reputations. Whilst consumers are no longer shocked by their data being lost or stolen the way an incident is managed can help an organisation mitigate this reputational damage.

Senior experts from the Information Commissioner’s Office got together to explore the different types of security breach and how organisations can avoid and recover from them in our ‘The Data Breach vs The Ethics Breach How to Prepare for Both’ webinar, held in partnership with OneTrust on 21 May 2020.

The webinar, now available to view on demand, used case studies examples of recent data and ethics breaches, analysing which situations qualify as an “ethics breach” and offered guidance on how best to avoid reputational damage to your organisation.

At the event, Chris Paterson, a privacy solutions engineer with OneTrust explained, “Ethics in our view is doing the right thing even when no one is watching and even when it costs you more money.” What do you think?

Those registering to view the On Demand version of the event will gain access to OneTrust’s incident and breach toolkit, with tips for avoiding the catastrophe of an ethics breach violation in your company.
