Aileen McLeod

Aileen joined the Club of Rome in 2020 as a Senior Advisor where she is taking forward work on 21st Century Transformational Economics with a view towards shifting short-term economics into long-term systems change.  
 
Aileen is a former elected Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Scotland (2019-2020). She served as a full member on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee and led on a number of EU policy issues relating to the environment, climate change, wellbeing economy and circular economy.  
 
Previously Aileen was an elected Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for South Scotland (2011 – 2016) and served in the Scottish Government as Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform. Her career has given her extensive experience in national and EU public policy at all levels, and expertise in EU and international policymaking across a wide range of policy areas.
