Alicia is a Senior Information Officer in SEPA’s Access to Information Team, which she joined as an information coordinator in 2022. As a large part of her current role, she is responsible for conducting Formal Reviews and working on Appeal submissions. Alicia is also responsible for providing ongoing training and support to the team, who are on track to receive almost 2,000 requests in 2024, the vast majority of which are environmental information requests. In the time that Alicia has been with the team, they have worked tirelessly to improve their performance from approximately 20% in Q1 of 2022 to 94% in Q2 of 2024. With a background in law, her information career began in 2021 at NHS Borders, where the focus was primarily FOISA. Working for SEPA has enabled her to hone her skills in the EIRs.
