Dr Amy Leckie is working within NHS Education for Scotland (NES) as programme lead for the Information Governance Competency Framework programme. This is a programme of work to deliver a robust Information Governance Competency Framework tailored to the needs of Health & Social Care in Scotland. This work is part of the national work led by the NIGP team in the Scottish Government in response to the commitments within the Data Strategy for Health & Social Care.
Amy has a 20-year history of working as a doctor in the NHS in various hospital roles and then as a GP. She also worked in the voluntary sector for a national charity working on a training programme for medical students and GPs. While working as a GP Amy recognised the critical role that data and information plays in the Healthcare landscape. Witnessing the importance of safeguarding patient information, she decided to pivot her career towards Information Governance. Amy lives in Callander with her husband and two border collies. She enjoys swimming in local lochs and mountain biking.
