Athena Zitrou is the Head of Business Analytics at Scottish Water, providing strategic & thought leadership for Analytics in a transforming organisation. Athena’s has always been on creating real impact from data & analytics — whether that’s improving operational efficiency, supporting long-term investment decisions, or building trust with regulators through transparent, evidence-based insights. She holds a PhD in Management Science, an MSc in Operational Research and a degree in Mathematics. Athena has both commercial and academic experience in the utility sector, she joined Scottish Water in 2012 as a Data Scientist and advanced to a senior leader in 2020. Athena lives in Glasgow, has two young sons and loves yoga and literature.
