David Smith MSP

David was elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament at this years Scottish Parliamentary elections and is a Reform UK Member representing the West Scotland Region.

This is the first time David has been elected, however prior to this election he enjoyed a wide and varied career as an Engineer.

David’s engineering career began in the Royal Navy. He left the Royal Navy Submarine Service in 2013 as a Chief Petty Officer, Nuclear Reactor Operator.

Since leaving the Royal Navy David has worked as a consultant providing engineering support to High Level Nuclear Waste projects at Sellafield, Nuclear Reactor Commissioning, Decommissioning and Disposal.

In addition to his nuclear project experience David has also provided engineering support to the Oil and Gas sector for New Product Development and has worked with a large number of industry partners throughout the years.

David is an Electrical Engineer and an experienced Safety Case Author.
