I have 13 years police service, starting in response policing before moving to a Proactive Unit dealing with drugs supply, serious and organised crime and housebreaking enquiries. I then worked for 3 years in an Intelligence role before joining Cybercrime Investigations with the Specialist Crime Division. Since joining the department over 3 years ago I have undertaken a number of courses in relation to Digital Forensics, Networking, Malware investigation and cryptocurrency investigation.
Cybercrime Investigations are a small team based in 3 offices around the country, covering the whole of Scotland. Our primary focus is serious Cyber dependent crime such as ransomware attacks affecting businesses, however we also support a range of other enquiries including proactive enquiry in relation to online forums, serious and organised cybercrime, network intrusion, as well as cryptocurrency frauds and thefts.
