
Dr Ali Farooq is a lecturer in cyber security at the University of Strathclyde. He specialises in human-centred and behavioural aspects of cyber security research. His research focuses on user behaviour, privacy, and trust in information and digital systems, and he has published over 44 papers in leading cyber security, HCI, and information systems journals. Dr Farooq has contributed to several international projects addressing cybersecurity awareness, AI, and privacy risks in emerging technologies. His current work explores how human factors shape secure and privacy-preserving behaviours in various contexts, including incident response and recovery. He is a senior member of IEEE.
