Working to support cyber security initiatives at CSIT including a hub of impact in semiconductor security, support for initiatives in cyber physical systems, secure connected intelligence, and cyber-AI. So stimulating collaborative partnerships both commercial and academic, generation of IP, spin-outs, spin-ins and production of proof of concept demonstrators, other activities relating to skills growth, nucleating and clustering.
Extensive background in industrial and economic development involving companies from local SMEs to multinational foreign direct investment, stimulating investment of c. £100m through c. 20 companies and c. 200 projects. Prior experience includes research in sensor-based technologies and software engineering related maturity and process enhancement. Also have a commercial background in large scale software development and in end user computing. I have a PhD in software engineering and software process control.
