Dr. Nour Ghadban (Senior Member, IEEE) is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, U.K. She received her Ph.D. with honors from Tishreen University, Syria, in 2018, where she was awarded the prestigious L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Award by L’Oréal UNESCO for Women in Science Levant & Egypt for her doctoral work. Dr. Ghadban also served as a CARA Fellow at the University of Glasgow and was a Lecturer at Tishreen University, where she accumulated extensive teaching experience, supported students academically, mentored them, and guided them through their academic journeys.
Dr. Ghadban, a dedicated AI researcher, is passionate about driving innovation at the intersection of technology and healthcare. Her research interests include machine learning, real-time systems, and healthcare technologies. She is also a Fellow of the Women’s Engineering Society and a Senior Member of IEEE Women in Engineering. In 2020, Dr. Ghadban was endorsed as a “Global Talent” by the Royal Academy of Engineering in the UK, and which 2024, she was recognized as a member of the RSE Young Academy of Scotland and received the Women in Science Chair Award from the Scientific and Steering Committees of the Women and Science Chair.
As a Fellow of L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science, a Women in Science Chair recipient, and a YAS member, Dr. Ghadban actively contributes to narrowing the gender gap in science and empowering women in STEM fields.
