Dr Paul Miller

From 1989 to 2018, Dr Miller has been a Research Fellow and Scientist in Northern Ireland and Australia. He is currently a Reader in the School of EEECS and Deputy Director of the Centre for Secure Information Technologies at Queen’s University Belfast. His main research focus is on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to cyber and physical security and the security of AI. Specific areas of expertise are probabilistic modelling, deep learning neural networks, graph mining and evidential reasoning networks. He has worked on Android malware detection, advanced persistent threat detection, website and software vulnerability detection, network intrusion detection and insider threat. He received the B.Sc. (Hons) and Ph.D degrees in pure and applied physics from Queen’s University Belfast in 1985 and 1989 respectively.
