Eilidh Munro

With a background in Gaelic media, focussing on documentaries and current affairs, Eilidh joined the office of Alasdair Allan MSP in August 2021 as a parliamentary assistant and researcher. She then was promoted to office manager in January 2024, and supports a hybrid team based both in the Western Isles and at Holyrood. Eilidh splits her time between Kingussie and Edinburgh and last month was selected as the SNP’s candidate for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch for May’s election. In her role in parliament, Eilidh is one of the SNP’s representatives on the MSP Staff Forum, advocating for improvements to training for MSP staff and liaising with Scottish Parliament staff in communicating key information to colleagues. Last year, Eilidh also formed a group for Highlands and Islands SNP MSP staffers to share knowledge on shared constituency casework issues and on relevant legislation. Eilidh is passionate about ensuring the needs of rural and island areas are integrated into the policymaking process, and as a fluent Gaelic speaker, one of her personal highlights of her time so far as an MSP staffer has been being able to contribute directly to the Scottish Languages Bill, which was passed earlier this year.
