As National Convener of Children’s Hearings Scotland (CHS) I am proud to lead the 3000 strong volunteer community and, in my role as Chief Executive, the National Team. I was appointed to this role in 2019, after serving as Depute Chief Executive for four years. I had previously worked as the Head of Planning and Strategy at the Scottish Children’s Reporters Administration. I was previously a Panel Member in Edinburgh for four years.
The National Convener is an independent position with legal responsibilities to recruit suitable people to serve as Panel Members across Scotland, and to make sure they have the right training and support to enable them to make sound decisions in the best interests of infants, children and young people. Children’s hearings, and our volunteers, are critically important in protecting infants, children and young people across our communities across Scotland.
