James was appointed as Director, CIAG Operations of Skills Development Scotland (SDS) in November 2017 following his previous role as Head of CMS Development and Delivery since 2015.
James’s directorate supports service delivery for people of all ages so that they have the right skills and confidence to secure good work, progress in their careers and achieve their full potential. James has additional responsibilities in the implementation/delivery of the Young Person’s Guarantee across SDS and is the Senior responsible Officer (SRO) for the programme undertaking a review of careers services across Scotland.
A graduate of the University of Strathclyde, James’s career includes spells as Director of Training and Development at Microcom Training and Director of Quality and Performance at Street League, the sport for employment charity. His experience since graduation has been across various roles in the design, development, delivery and improvement of learning and skills programmes in both Scotland and England.
James is currently undertaking his MBA at the University of Strathclyde.
