Professor Janine Illian is the Chair in Statistical Sciences and Head of Statistics within the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Glasgow. She develops realistically complex spatial and spatio-temporal modelling methodology that is computationally feasible, relevant to and usable by end-users. Research led by Janine has impacted on decision making processes in the context of ecology, environmental sciences, terrorism studies, cancer research and epidemiology, with a focus on low and medium income countries.
