
Dr Jaylan Azer is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, and an Affiliated Researcher at the University of Glasgow Centre for Public Policy. She holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde and has over 15 years of professional experience, including senior management roles in retail banking.
Her research focuses on Services Marketing, actor/customer engagement in digital contexts, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, with publications in leading journals including the Journal of Service Research and Journal of Business Research. Dr Azer collaborates closely with industry partners such as VisitScotland and the Outer Hebrides Tourism Community, applying her research to practical initiatives in tourism, engagement, and social media marketing.
She is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Quality and Service Sciences and serves on several editorial boards. Dr Azer is also active in executive education, delivering training in social media marketing and customer relationship management, and regularly invited to speak at national and international events.
