Joe was appointed the position as Head of the Northern Ireland Cyber Security Centre on 4th Mar 2019 to lead this new initiative to secure a more effective response to the growing threats of cyber whilst promoting cyber as a great career opportunity in Northern Ireland. Joe is a career Northern Ireland Civil Servant and IT Professional for over 30 years. In this time I have held key operational and advisory positions as Head of Telecommunications for the Northern Ireland Civil service, later leading the foundations for unified communications and services across the public sector. He has acted as Chief Operations Officer in the development of the defence in depth security for the NICS shared services organisation and more recently as Accreditor within the department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural affairs one of the largest and diverse NICS departments.
