Jude Copeland is an Associate and Legal Review Manager in the Legal Technology Group at Cleaver Fulton Rankin Solicitors. With over twelve years of experience, Jude specialises in legal technology, particularly eDisclosure, and is widely recognised for expertise in data protection, cybersecurity and the practical use of emerging technologies in legal practice.
In July 2025, Jude was appointed Chair of the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Cybersecurity, Data Protection and Emerging Technologies Sub-Group and also serves on the LawTech Working Group. In this capacity, he oversees guidance on responsible AI adoption, cybersecurity best practices and digital resilience across the profession.
At Cleaver Fulton Rankin, Jude has a busy eDiscovery practice, unique in the jurisdiction, which includes large-scale and high-volume document reviews down to DSARs. He regularly advises global and Northern Ireland public sector clients, demonstrating a strong capability in handling sensitive and complex legal-tech challenges.
A solicitor with dual qualification in Northern Ireland and England & Wales and also a solicitor advocate in NI, Jude holds an LLM in Human Rights & Criminal Justice, multiple postgraduate certificates including in technology law, PRINCE2 accreditation and has completed an advanced advocacy certificate with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
Alongside a busy legal-tech practice, Jude is an active public speaker and thought leader. He frequently speaks across the UK and Ireland on cybersecurity, AI ethics, legal-tech innovation, diversity and inclusion including LGBTQIA+ heritage, often for BBC NI, professional events, universities and community organisations.
