Katie Hay

A law and languages graduate of the University of Glasgow, Katie has been with the Law Society of Scotland since April 2005. She was appointed Head of International in June 2015. Her role involves coordinating and promoting the Society’s policy positions as they relate to international issues, including the impact of EU exit on the legal profession and on the law in Scotland; and on international trade policy development as it affects legal services and legal practice. She is also responsible for developing and implementing the Society’s strategic plan for championing the Society and Scottish solicitors internationally by identifying platforms and opportunities to promote their work internationally; and engaging with the Scottish and UK governments and others to contribute to the achievement of shared economic and capacity-building goals.
