Martyn Wallace

Martyn Wallace is the Chief Digital Officer for the Digital Office for Scottish Local Government and a recognised authority on the application of data and artificial intelligence in public sector transformation. He leads national programmes exploring how AI, advanced analytics and digital innovation can improve service delivery, support reform and deliver better outcomes for citizens and communities.

Martyn is a Board Member of The Data Lab, Scotland’s world leading data and AI innovation centre, and has chaired or led nationally significant programmes spanning digital identity, health and care transformation, and sector wide data strategy. With over 20 years’ experience across public and private sectors, he brings a pragmatic, human centred perspective to AI adoption, grounded in ethics, governance and workforce impact.

A highly sought after international keynote speaker, Martyn speaks on AI opportunities, risks and responsibilities; the future of AI enabled public services; and how governments can embed data and AI into strategy and policy. He has been named in the CIO100 UK for eight consecutive years and regularly advises senior leaders on responsible, outcome focused AI adoption.
