Michael is Head of IT Security at Munster Technological University, where he leads cybersecurity strategy for over 2,000 Staff and 20,000 students across 2 counties with 6 campuses. With over 10 years in cybersecurity leadership experience spanning offensive security, threat hunting, awareness training and strategic planning Michael has contributed greatly to the security posture of companies he has worked for. Michael has experience in achieving and maintaining globally recognised certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 20000, PCI, SOC 2 and Cyber Essentials.
Prior to his current role, Michael served in several cybersecurity roles including Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager and Senior Security Analyst. Michael holds a Masters in Cybersecurity from National College of Ireland, along with multiple industry based certifications.
