
Paul joined the NCA in July 2019 in the National Intelligence Hub, where he led a range of capabilities including the National Firearms Targeting Centre, the National Drugs Targeting Centre and Tactical Analysis. In July 2021 he was appointed Deputy Director of National Tasking and Co-ordination to lead SOC System Tasking and the United Kingdom Protected Persons Service. In December 2022 he was appointed to lead the National Cyber Crime Unit.
Paul joined the NCA from West Midlands Police where he was Head of Intelligence in the Regional Organised Crime Unit and prior to that, Deputy Head of Covert Operations. He has previously worked in Counter Terrorism and Offender Management plus a range of frontline operational policing roles.
Paul is an advocate of Evidence Based Policing and holds an MSc in Police Leadership and Management from Warwick Business School. He is also an experienced Hostage and Crisis Negotiator.
Paul lives in Birmingham where in his free time he enjoys running, walking with his dog Mitch, and playing very amateur guitar.
