
Paul has worked with the Scottish Information Commissioner since 2003, helping to promote and enforce Scotland’s FOI laws. He currently works as Deputy Head of Policy and Information, with responsibility for raising public awareness and understanding of FOI rights and supporting FOI best practice within public bodies.
Paul’s current responsibilities include leading the Commissioner’s intervention to improve the Scottish Government’s FOI performance, working on the Commissioner’s response to proposals to extend or improve FOI law, supporting the eCase FOI awards and overseeing the production of the ‘Open Update’ FOI newsletter. Paul also works on a wide range of other responsibilities within the team, including research, reporting, media support, stakeholder engagement, training, guidance and website development.
