Basil was entrusted to host the INTERPOL’s Digital Forensics Expert Group (DFEG2024) meeting at Edinburgh Napier University (19-21 June 2024), which saw almost 200 experts from law enforcement, industry, and academia converge to Edinburgh. The DFEG meeting in Edinburgh was only the second time in the UK, the first time in Scotland and the first time in any European university.

Basil is a regular speaker to universities (Glasgow, Strathclyde, Edinburgh Napier, UWS, Robert Gordon, SAN, American College of Greece) and conferences in the UK and abroad (Poland, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Ukraine). He has had more than 160 public engagements since 2017 and has kept providing online awareness sessions during the pandemic. He is a Specialist Visiting Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
