Marilyn is a Professor of Digital Health and Care at the University of Strathclyde. She has over 25 years experience in the user centered design and evaluation of interactive technologies and services for a variety of health and care domains. Her work focuses on how to co create digital solutions that are usable and acceptable, especially in older adult care, independent living, and remote at home monitoring and prevention. Her funded work (over £3m from EPSRC, CSO, NIHR, Horizon) includes smart home solutions for falls prevention and medicine management. She works with both the NHS and social care sector to identify the human factors that both prevent and enable digital solutions to make it to market, and into people’s homes.
