Originally from France, Richard has over 20 years of IT experience across sectors including private firms, international organisations, charities, consultancy, Russell Group university, and now the public sector.
As Head of IT and Information Security, he led a full digital overhaul of an outdated estate, aligning it with organisational needs, NIS compliance, and future transformation plans. This included introducing flexible architectural principles and delivering a private cross-island network in partnership with NSS and Capita to improve remote connectivity.
Richard also drove a cultural shift in the IT department, improving provider relationships, internal service delivery, and project management. His success was underpinned by strong collaboration with technical partners and strict budget control.
Richard also runs a consultancy service in Orkney bringing his knowledge to the local companies on the island and the North of Scotland.
