Sam Kinkaid

Sam Kinkaid is a Detective with over 29 years’ service who for the last 12 years has been based with the Police Service of Northern Ireland Cyber Crime Investigation Team. Having dealt with cyber related investigations such as insider threats, network intrusions and ransomware, for the past 8 years, Sam has been the Regional Cyber Protect officer and a member of the UK Cyber Protect police team.

Working with the UK Cyber Protect Team and partners such as the National Cyber Security Centre, NICSC and the local cyber security sector, Sam engages with local organisations and victims of cyber crime, raising staff awareness of current threats and providing advice and guidance on how both individuals and organisations can better protect themselves against what are all too often common attacks. Sam also runs the popular ‘Cyber Escape Room’ with Public, Private and Charity organisations across Northern Ireland and more recently has brought the Escape Room to a Cross Border audience. Sam is a CyberFirst ambassador working with CyberFirstNI to encourage young people to consider cyber careers.
