In 2014, I started within the evidence-informed practice team at Iriss, finding my way into knowing the social care and work sector alongside fantastic colleagues. In 2019, I stepped into the role of Head of Delivery, overseeing project work and implementation across the organisation, with that turning into the Head of Programmes role in 2021, and then CEO in 2025.
I have a wide range of interests around collaborative methods of working, and trying to see how we can meaningfully use evidence and innovation to implement change in the complex environments in which we work.
I have an academic grounding in the field of human geography. My PhD, completed in 2011, examined the relationship between mental health well-being and environmental volunteering.
Following my PhD I worked within the Scottish Government and the University of Sheffield, as well as carrying out a number of fixed-term consultancy research roles. Within each of these, I enjoyed working across the boundaries of academic, policy, practitioner and lived knowledges, seeking to link these worlds in meaningful ways.
