Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a key enabler of Scotland’s Public Service Reform agenda.

However, AI’s growing role in service delivery brings new cyber security, governance and resilience challenges.

This plenary will explore how Scotland’s public services can harness AI to drive reform and transformation in the context of the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, while building the cyber resilience, governance frameworks and leadership needed to meet new expectations and manage the risks that accompany AI adoption.

As Scotland moves towards greater consolidation of digital systems and shared services in line with public service reform ambitions, cyber resilience is becoming a national challenge rather than a local one.

And these threats only intensify as supply chain weaknesses, single points of failure and the challenge of procuring across multiple services add to the complexity of public service reform.

This session will also consider the implications of the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill for Scotland’s public services, including regulated services, supplier obligations, procurement, contracts and third-party assurance.
