Scottish Health Hustings | Holyrood and BMA Scotland

In the run up to the parliamentary election, Holyrood and BMA Scotland’s Scottish Health Hustings featured contributions from representatives working across Scotland’s political spectrum.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed the greatest challenge to our health and social care system in recent history.

As we approach the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary elections, now is an ideal opportunity to think about what we want from our health and care system moving forward.

We also must consider addressing the challenges around recruitment and retention as well as how we can ensure staff are valued, protected and supported.

During the Scottish Finance Hustings, candidates from each party discussed the challenges of the future of Health and Care in Scotland.  Representatives from each party outlined the steps they believe need to be taken to ensure a recovery that works for staff and patients alike.

The event was hosted by Andrew Learmonth, Journalist, Holyrood Magazine, with an introduction from Dr Lewis Morrison, Chair, BMA Scotland.

Holyrood’s Scottish Election Hustings

Hustings are non-partisan events that bring electoral candidates together before an election. We don’t often get the opportunity to directly address our political representatives. These hustings gave an opportunity to raise the issues that matter to you on the subjects covered.

Holyrood’s Hustings were an opportunity to hear candidates from Scotland’s main political parties discuss the challenges ahead and outline their party priorities. Holyrood is also hosted FinanceEnvironment and Education hustings.
