Implementing Scotland’s Housing to 2040 strategy

Scotland’s Housing to 2040 strategy set out a vision for the future of housing, with a commitment to deliver 100,000 affordable homes by 2032. By successfully implementing the strategy, we can reduce housing need in Scotland, transform the lives of thousands of people, tackle child poverty and support Scotland’s economic recovery.

There is a lot to consider before this vision can be fulfilled. Watch this event, now available on-demand, where we discussed how the Scottish Government will reach their target of delivering 100,000 affordable homes by 2032, ensuring the distinctive needs of individuals and local communities are considered. As we strive to meet our climate change targets and tackle worrying levels of fuel poverty, here we will explore how local authorities, social landlords and the construction industry can deliver zero emission new builds and improve the energy efficiency of existing homes. This will include the deployment of low and zero emissions heating solutions, such as heat pumps.

With the Scottish Government due to launch a consultation for a new Rented Sector Strategy in 2022, this session will provide stakeholders with an early opportunity to consider how the strategy might seek to overcome challenges pertaining to the availability, affordability and standards of rented properties.
